Matt was exploring ideas of sentience and consciousness in his work long before the very vocal conversations we are having now. That it has permeated every part of our existence and demanded that we become both the product and the consumer was an outcome too seemingly farfetched outside the realms of science fiction. But the artists who tap into the projections of human culture are not exploring fantasy. They are acutely aware of the potentialities that exist long before they are realised. They are our truth seekers. Our truth speakers. With the exception of a handful of pieces, his work was sold far and wide within weeks of completion. Here, some 15 years later, with all this iconography available to us, we have chosen to continue to share his vision, his talent and thoughts in a way that is accessible to all. This was a central tenet of his practice. That art should be available to all and his works ranged from $60 to $25 000 to ensure that everyone could live with and love art.
